Why is health insurance important?

We are all aware that the future is unpredictable and rather uncertain. You cannot predict the time of illness or injury; it can come today, tomorrow or any day in near future. Cost occurring due to illness or injuries can take your financial condition upside down.
The out of pocket expenditure incurred by people in India on their health accounts for about 70% of all health expenditure in the country. Due to unpredictable illness, an individual may have to incur substantial amount of money. Every year 2.2% of India’s population is leading towards poverty due to such illness.
How can you plan for this uncertain situation? It is very simple actually. Health insurance provides coverage towards all or few of such health care needs and medical expenses incurred by a person.

People have now started taking lead in planning for their own health expenditure. People have realised that planning for their health needs and taking an appropriate precaution to cover the risk is required. This has resulted in an increase of individuals for opting for buying health insurance policy to cover against such health risks.
Before buying a health insurance you need to know for what you can get cover from the insurance company. The cover may vary company to company but following are few situations which you can get cover for:
  1. In-Patient treatment: Case where individual has been admitted in the hospital for more than 24 hours then individual is covered with the cost of room rent, boarding expenses, doctor fees, medicines and other illness related tests.
  2. Pre-hospitalization: In this case the cost of medicines, consultation and diagnostics if any treatment received prior to hospitalization. This cover is normally provided for the period of 30 days prior to hospitalization.
  3. Post hospitalization: In this case cost of medicines, consultation is covered for post hospitalization period. It is normally valid up to 60 days after discharge of the individual from the hospitals
  4. Cashless Treatment: Insurance companies offer cashless treatment, if covered under the health policy. Under cashless Hospitalisation, the insured is not required to pay from his pocket for the treatment taken in hospital, instead, insurance companies pay directly to the hospitals for the treatment taken by you.

But the real origin might lie deeper: in your digestive system. The Hidden Link Between Your Gut and Your Hair Your intestines host billions of microbes — known as the gut microbiome — that act like a processing plant, breaking down meals, extracting essentials, and synthesizing key vitamins. For strong hair roots, a consistent flow of elements like biotin, zinc, iron, proteins, and vitamins A, D, E, plus the B group is crucial. If absorption in your gut falters, your scalp could suffer the deficit long before other symptoms appear. Beyond that, microbial imbalances may spark widespread inflammation and elevate stress chemicals (such as cortisol), which can disrupt the signals that promote hair regrowth. Three Mechanisms by Which Weak Gut Health Contributes to Hair Thinning Lack of Essential Nutrients Ongoing issues like swe...
